At the delicate, shifting border between chaos and quiet, abstraction and representation, lies the foundation of my practice. Built from visceral, indelible layers of ink, each work functions as both a record of time and a deeply meditative act of survival - a quiet processing of personal loss transformed into resilience. The act of adding each mark is a highly sensual, pleasurable, meditative, and transcendent
process; while individual lines are explicit and deliberate, their collective behavior is entirely unpredictable, creating a visually overwhelming terrain.
Up close, the surface breathes as a dense, immersive abstract environment. Countless scribbled lines and organic shapes push against one another, vying for dominance. This intense repetition mirrors the dynamic currents of my memories of water while evoking a primal vulnerability to nature’s vast uncertainty.
Stepping back, a surprising clarity emerges. These fragmented gestures soften and coalesce into forms that verge on the recognizable, offering calm amid complexity. One state cannot exist without the other; the final representational form owes its existence entirely to the cumulative power of its smaller, abstract components. Ultimately, the work invites an interplay of perception – a space where turbulence and stillness coexist, and where repetitive, deliberate gestures transmute overwhelming emotion into a subtle, healing resonance.
